Our purpose

Macdoch Foundation is a family foundation that tackles complex, entrenched challenges. Our role is to be a catalyst for change across agricultural and food systems, support successful climate change-related transitions and build healthy communities.

The impact we seek is a nature-positive, climate-friendly agriculture and food system that is economically sustainable, nourishes people and strengthens communities.

We create bold, system interventions by working collaboratively across sectors, partners and communities, being disruptive, and learning from the expertise and wisdom of our partners.

Our purpose is to tackle complex, entrenched issues that have the potential to transform agriculture and the food system and build the resilience of people and the planet.

Our values

Optimism & Ambition

We see opportunities as well as challenges. We act with courage and make bold interventions that bring positive change.

Patience & Pragmatism

We investigate the hard questions. We embrace complexity, think practically and understand that real change takes time.

Compassion & Collaboration

We seek diverse perspectives. We work with care and understanding to engage people, build bridges, and reduce polarisation.

Curiosity & Humility

We listen and learn as we go. We draw on the experience and expertise of our partners and leading thinkers, and back evidence-based solutions.
