Hosted by Farmers for Climate Action, the Frontline Voices Program was developed to support farmers to advocate for and accelerate the adoption of nature friendly farming by equipping them with essential advocacy, media and influencing skills that can drive positive change in Australia and beyond.
In November 2025, Farmers for Climate Action, in partnership with Ambition Loop and Global Alliance for the Future of Food, supported three farmers to attend COP30 in Brazil as part of the Frontline Voices Program.
The cohort included Michael Taylor, a 6th-generation farmer from Aniwan country/Armidale NSW grazier, who also runs integrated agroforestry and farm tourism; Joshua Gilbert, a Worimi man and beef farmer from Worimi Country/Gloucester Mid North NSW; and Maggie Jarrett, a 2025 Nuffield Scholar from See Saw Wines on Wiradjuri Country/Orange NSW.
This foundational experience provided these farmers with the opportunity to advocate for nature-friendly farming as a global solution to the climate and biodiversity crisis and deepen their understanding multilateral of processes.
The video below shares highlights the importance of having nature friendly farmer voices being included in global decision-making processes.
“Farmers have to be part of the solution at COP and they have to be part of the decision making. You can’t exclude nature or agriculture when you are talking about climate solutions”
